2009 - 2010 season

The branch darts team, having been relegated from Division 1 of the APFSCIL league last season, proceeded, (as usual!), to comfortably win the 2nd division championship. Only one game was lost, (2nd round cup match against Derby County), although we had to forfeit one league game, (against Scunthorpe), as we could only muster 2 players at the pub that night.

Captain Keith Adamson played in every game,(11), and Richie Cockton, Gordon Crossman and Andy Stephenson, (9), Geoff Lambton, (7), Andy Guthrie,(6), Luke Marson, (4), Disco Derek Alexander and Andrew Mac Alpine (3) were the other players.

All the players did very well, all winning more than they lost, but the stars were the “midfield enforcers”, Andy Stephenson and Gordon Crossman, playing at 3 and 4, winning virtually all of their single and doubles matchesOn the individual scoring front, Gordon Crossman led the way, with Richie Cockton and Andy Stephenson close behind. All in all, a great team effort.

Several matches were played with less than the full 6 players, culminating in the Scunthorpe game where we only had 2. As league rules stipulate a minimum of 3 players, we had to forfeit the match, and were docked 5 points. We are therefore looking for new, (or old!), players to join the team.

Darts Team

Next season we will be playing in the APFSCIL league 1st division. Games are played on midweek nights, (Mondays in our case for home games), in various central London pubs, about once a month Currently, our home games are played at The Horseshoe, 24 Clerkenwell Close, EC1, nearest tube station Farringdon.

Our need for new players is urgent, as Luke Marson now works away from London, and long-time stalwart Geoff Lambton no longer works in London. Anyone who would like to play, (ladies and gentleman, old and young), are welcome - please contact me (Keith Adamson, tel 020 7435 3164, e-mail keith-adamson@o2.co.uk)
