Newsletter covers over the years...

Over the last 25 years, a number of Branch members have given up their time to produce the Branch newsletter.  During this period, its editors have included Andy Nichol, Trevor Longstaff and Eileen Sproates.

The newsletter started out as The Sunderland Newsletter but after some time metamophosed into 5573 which commemorated the date of our last FA Cup triumph.  In the mid-nineties, the membership voted narrowly to change the name to Wear Down South.

In the seventies and eighties, the production process was very 'hands-on' with volunteers typing up articles then running them off on the Branch's Gestetner ink printer.  Since those days, we've moved with the times and from the late eighties to the present, the printing process has been completed professionally with electronic copy passing from author to editor and to printers with comparative ease.
