Travel arrangements and bookings

Travel is generally by train, at discounted rates, available from Grand Central and other rail operators e.g. Virgin West Coast to properly organised supporter groups. When circumstances dictate, such as night matches when there are no return trains to London or engineering works have disrupted services, coaches are used.

Because firm non-refundable bookings have to be made with train operators, the Branch is unable to offer a “walk-up-and-go” service and pre-payment is required. Please leave your bookings on the Traveline and then send your cheque to confirm your booking.

Booking Home Games: Bookings must be received by the Monday before week-end games and by the preceding Friday for mid-week ones. The price is currently £38 with half-price for Juniors and Senior Railcard holders. Rail card holders are now required to bring these along to prove eligibility to traing guards.

Booking Away Games: As the Branch does not have the same relationship with other operators as they do with Grand Central, bookings for travel to away games MUST be received at least 7 days before the game. Please check the Branch Traveline for up to date details. Check the Traveline for prices.

First Time Travellers: We will not confirm receipt of your booking/cheque (unless you enclose an SAE), so it is recommended that you leave a message on the Traveline so the travel officer knows you are intending to travel. When you arrive at the station, head for the Sunderland shirts… a member of the Committee will be present to dish out the train tickets.

Match tickets: If you are requesting match tickets through the branch you need to apply AT LEAST 1 month before the game. Please send an SAE and cheque. IF YOUR TICKETS HAVE NOT ARRIVED AT LEAST 48 HOURS BEFORE THE GAME PLEASE LEAVE A MESSAGE ON THE TRAVELINE

Guests: Please note - if you are booking for additional places, please include the names of everyone that is travelling with you; for any non-members travelling as guests there is an additional fee of £2.00

THE TRAVELINE IS CURRENTLY UNAVAILABLE - TRAVEL INFORMATION WILL BE DISTRIBUTED BY EMAIL AND BOOKINGS MADE IN THE USUAL WAY. HOWEVER EMAILS COMFIRMING INTENTION TO TRAVEL CAN BE SENT TO: traceytravelsafc@aol.com

Details of forthcoming trips, fares and departure times are available on a dedicated Branch Traveline on 01763-274966. Messages may also be left there but bookings are not confirmed until the necessary remittance has been received by the Travel Officer.

Cheques should be made payable to “SAFCSA (London Branch)”, you should also clearly indicate the match the cheque is for on the back, and bookings should be sent to:
