The Branch Pool team pulled out a sterling performance to beat rivals Newcastle London Branch 5-3 to win their first Cup in 15 years.
After going ahead 3-0, before the Mags, who were sneakily fielding some ringers, pulled it back to 3-3. After some squeaky bum time, the lads, lead by Captain Jim Minton, went ahead 4-3 thanks to a foul by the Mags in the first doubles match. Aidan and Dougal (aka Ian Currie) stepped up, and as Aidan doubled a cracking colour, Dougal took advantage when the Mags missed the black.
While the Mags brought the After Eights to wind up the lads, it was Jim, Aidan, Dougal, Paul, Nigel and Matt who had the last laugh, and enjoyed champagne (well, prosecco) out of the cup.
